Arbitrum is Ethereum scaling solutions that make it easy to build and use decentralized applications
This is made possible by the Layer 2 (L2) optimistic rollup chain implementing the Arbitrum Rollup protocol and settling transactions to Ethereum’s Layer 1 (L1) chain. It enables the development of high- performance Ethereum dApps with low transaction costs and Ethereum- level security guarantees, without introducing additional trust assumptions.

Optimistic rollups are Layer 2 (L2) solutions for Ethereum, enhancing throughput and latency by shifting computation and data storage off-chain. They process transactions away from the Ethereum Mainnet, alleviating congestion and boosting scalability. With minimal on-chain data, they assume transaction validity automatically. They aggregate thousands of transactions into batches before submitting them on the Mainnet, hence the term “rollups.”
